“Legal help must mirror modern payment solutions – otherwise it won’t be accessible to everyone”
The legaltech company Kliently is now launching the option to pay for legal services with Klarna. This means clients can choose to pay immediately, later, or in installments – just like in regular e-commerce services. The goal is to make legal advice as simple, secure, and accessible as the other digital services people use in their everyday lives.
– Legal help must mirror modern payment solutions – otherwise it won’t be accessible to everyone. If we truly want more people to be able to seek legal assistance, we also need to lower the barriers to paying for it, says Nadja Hatem, CEO and co-founder of Kliently.
In e-commerce, user-friendliness, transparency, and flexible payment solutions are a given. But in the legal industry, heavy processes, high upfront costs, and complicated communication still dominate. Kliently wants to change that.
– Today, people expect to quickly understand what they are paying for, choose how they want to pay, and take action directly from their mobile. This means the legal industry must also adapt to people’s digital everyday lives – otherwise we risk that important rights go unused, says Nadja Hatem, CEO and co-founder of Kliently.
Kliently combines law with modern technology to offer smart, flexible, and cost-effective solutions. Clients can hire Kliently’s lawyers for cases, book short consultations when they quickly need to speak with a lawyer, draft contracts either themselves through Kliently’s contract service or together with a lawyer, and book video meetings – no matter where in the world they are. Advice is also offered in multiple languages to meet more people’s needs.
That legal assistance can now be paid through Klarna means clients no longer have to choose between getting help or facing financial stress. Kliently has long seen how costs can act as a barrier that makes people wait too long or refrain from seeking help altogether.
– Not everyone has tens of thousands of kronor available to hire a lawyer. Many instead turn to quick loans with unreasonable interest rates – or skip legal help entirely. With Klarna, our clients can feel more secure: they can get help when the need arises and decide for themselves how they want to pay, says Nadja Hatem, CEO and co-founder of Kliently.
