This support is regulated by the Social Insurance Code and applies to children under 18 years old. In some cases, it extends to children up to 21 years old if they&#8217;re enrolled in primary or secondary education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-apply\">How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, the parent with whom the <a href=\"https:\/\/kliently.se\/en\/services\/visitation\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/kliently.se\/services\/umgange\/\">child resides<\/a> must submit an application to the Social Insurance Agency. Follow these steps to apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download and fill out the application form from the Social Insurance Agency&#8217;s website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide details about the other parent of the child.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include relevant financial documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit the completed application via their online service or by post.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-s-eligible-for-maintenance-support\">Who&#8217;s eligible for maintenance support?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under Swedish law, all children have the right to financial support from their parents. When a parent doesn&#8217;t fulfill this <a href=\"https:\/\/kliently.se\/en\/news\/alimony-maintenance-support-we-sort-out-what-is-what\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/kliently.se\/nyheter\/underhallsbidrag-underhallsstod-vi-reder-ut-vad-som-ar-vad\/\">obligation<\/a>, the Social Insurance Agency can step in. The support is available if the parents are separated and:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One parent doesn&#8217;t provide maintenance payments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The parents&#8217; financial circumstances change significantly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One parent isn&#8217;t the legal guardian.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-amounts-and-payments\">Amounts and payments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The amount of maintenance support is standardized and varies based on the child&#8217;s age. The following amounts apply for 2026 at full support levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular
