Her thesis,\u00a0<em>\u201cThrough the Eye of a Needle \u2013 Ill Children&#8217;s opportunities for residence permit in Sweden\u201d<\/em>\u00a0is one of ten selected nominations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, the Alumni Foundation at the Faculty of Law in Uppsala awards prizes to the two best law theses. Nominated papers are first selected by faculty members at Juridicum and then reviewed by a jury composed of members of the Alumni Council. After thorough evaluation, the jury names two winners, each receiving a prize of 10,000 SEK and an invitation to present their thesis during Alumni Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <em>We are incredibly proud to have Anastasia on our team. She combines deep legal knowledge with strong social commitment, and that truly shines through in her work. Being recognized in this way is not only well-deserved \u2013 it\u2019s also inspiring<\/em>, says Nadja Hatem, CEO and co-founder of Kliently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anastasia\u2019s thesis explores children\u2019s rights in the context of migration processes, focusing particularly on how a child\u2019s health condition is weighed against the state\u2019s interest in limiting immigration. Where exactly does the somatically ill child fit into today\u2019s Swedish migration law \u2013 and whose \u201cright\u201d truly carries the most weight in practice? In her work, Anastasia also raises the question of whether it\u2019s always in a child\u2019s best interest to remain in Sweden \u2013 a question that may feel uncomfortable, but one she believes must be asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <em>I\u2019m genuinely thrilled and, above all, very proud that my thesis was nominated \u2013 especially knowing how many incredibly skilled law graduates complete their degrees at Uppsala University every year.
